Recorder Karate
Grade 4 students are currently working on the Recorder Karate program. Recorder Karate is a self-paced method book that teaches basic techniques through nine folk songs. The expectation is for all grade 4 students to achieve the orange belt level. Students may test for further belts if they desire. During school closures, students are welcome to record themselves performing a song and then submit the recording to [email protected]. Mrs. Clyde will be in contact with the sender and will provide feedback. Belts will be presented when all students are back in school.

Rhythm Practice
Here are some rhythm drills to practice at home. First try saying the rhythm (ta and ti-ti), then clap the rhythm, and finally say and clap at the same time. These exercises can be repeated several times a week.
Note Names
If you have access to a printer, please print the following document for review of the treble clef notes. If you would prefer to receive a printed copy, please notify Mrs. Clyde at [email protected] and I will make a copy available for your child in the office. Students are to name the notes on the treble clef using Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge for line notes at F A C E for space notes.
